Obituary

Clark, Charles John “Charlie” / “Chuck” of Arlington, MA, died of cancer at 56 years on December 4,
2019. Son of the late John Clark and Patricia (Cavanagh) Clark. Charlie leaves behind his beloved family,
his wife Lisie Haustein, his mother Patricia, his sister Ann, and his cherished dog Amma. Chuck had a
great love of the outdoors, enjoying fishing, kayaking, swimming, and hiking. He was a pediatric
occupational therapist and massage therapist, a career that he had both great skill for and a natural gift
for, and that he truly adored. Chuck touched the lives of so many children and families, whose lives he
made better with his ability to fill their therapeutic work together with laughter and understanding.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sanborn Foundation, a charity that helps Arlington
residents with their cancer treatments. They were generous and kind to Chuck during his battle. Checks
may be sent to the Sanborn Foundation, PO Box 417, Arlington, MA 02476.

A funeral mass will be said for Charlie on Thursday, December 12 at 10 am, Saint Eulalia Parish, 50 Ridge
Street, Winchester, MA 01890.

A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held in January 2020, further information will follow.
The next time you look out over the ocean, think of Chuck, that’s where he will be.

I met Chuck in the classroom at Norwood High School in 1988. My son, Max, was a student in this special needs classroom. My son took an immediate liking to Chuck, and enjoyed camping with the class and Chuck. At this time, my son attended occupational therapy at OTA. Eventually, after telling his therapist about Chuck, OTA hired him. We will miss his caring devotion to children. He touched many lives.

I met Chuck through his beautiful wife, Lisie. He is an amazingly kind person who gave the best hugs. He made Lisie’s life complete. All of my love to Lisie and Chuck’s mom and sister. Chuck, you will be missed and never forgotten.

My friend and colleague, Lisie Hussein, was made VERY happy when Chuck Clark came into her life. He was a beautiful person and that made him a perfect match for Lisie, and together they sailed and soared through life. Their work: children’s happiness and success. Their play: the great outdoors and ALL it offers! Their time was cut much too short, but OH WHAT A TIME THEY HAD.
My heart is with Chuck’s wife, Lisie, and his mother, sister, and all those who knew and loved him.
