Obituary

Frances Olivia McLean (Beckette), born August 23rd, 1933 in Augusta, GA, to Ethel Beckette & Escho Beckette, passed away on May 8th, 2020 at Briarwood Rehab,Needham,MA after many years battling Dementia. Diagnosed with Dementia in 2008 Frances was the epitome of strength and continued to hold on to that zest of life despite the years of continuing decline and transitions. Although her mind started to fail her, her attitude remained positive, hopeful, and loving. To be able to sit with her and laugh and talk for hours, even if the conversation trailed, was implicative of the social, sweet, friendly and selfless person she was. Things were difficult near the end as her body started to fail her and certain medical conditions arose, but she kept fighting, she kept fighting when she became Covid positive five weeks ago and truly held on until the very end. Once it was time for her to start her journey into the afterlife she went peacefully to be re-united with the Lord and her loved ones that have passed. Years prior, Frances was a dedicated employee to the MA Registry of Motor Vehicles for 34 years and was given an honorary award by Gov. Mitt Romney in 2006 for her years of service. Frances loved fashion, cooking, God, and her family, she was always ready to be there for those in their times of need. Frances is survived by her devoted daughter, Regina Mclean-Keefe and husband, Kenneth Keefe. Her beloved and devoted granddaughter DeAnna Campbell and fiance, Keith Gagnon, whose immediate & extended family embraced Frances as their own over the last 8 years. Her baby brother, Ferdinand Beckette and wife, Mary Beckette, and their adult children, Sarah, Brian, & Chris. Pre-decesed, brother Escho Jr. Beckette whom she cared for dearly.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date that will take place at Mt.Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association https://www.alz.org
