Obituary for James E. "Jimmy" Hibbard

Hibbard, James "Jimmy" Earl aged 59, unexpectedly on October 11th of Arlington formerly of Somerville. Jim was a deeply devoted husband to his wife Brenda A. Hibbard (Kreconus) of Arlington, formerly of Billerica, for 37 years. Proud father of daughter Joanna L. Hughes and her husband Stephen of Billerica MA, and his son Thomas E. Hibbard and his wife Lacey of Charlotte NC. Passionate and loving grandfather to Asher Hibbard and Baby Brother Hibbard, due in December. Loving son-in-law of the late Mary and Thomas Kreconus of Billerica. Cherished brother of Mary-Jane Castiglia (Hibbard) and brother-in-law of the late John Castiglia of Brockton. Loving uncle of Cheryl Milot (Castiglia) and her husband George of North Attleboro, MA, and their daughters Jacqueline and Isabelle Milot. Loving son of the late Dorothy V. (Souza) and Earl C. Hibbard. Also survived by sisters and brother in laws, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. He was an Arlington High School graduate of 1977 and founder and C.E.O. of his own business, Independent Cleaning Company (formerly ‘The Clean Hornet’), for 25 years. Jimmy was a hardworking, loving and proud family man with a bigger than life personality. He always knew how to get your attention and get people laughing. Jimmy could often be found in his 'perch' on his porch, always chatting to all of the neighbors and friends walking by in the neighborhood. Everyone knew him. He loved his family, his Jeeps, comic books (especially Batman), his kitties, cheeseballs, and the Patriots. He was obsessed with his grandson, and couldn’t wait to meet his next one. He will be very deeply and profoundly missed by everyone that was privileged enough to have known him. Funeral from the DeVito Funeral Home 1145 Mass. Ave., ARLINGTON on Thursday at 9 am with a funeral mass to be held at 10 am in St. Agnes Church. Burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are invited to visit in the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Jimmy to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave, Waltham, MA 02451 or heart.org/donate.
